Serving Our Seniors Offers Out of Town Transportation to Health Care Appointments

Serving Our Seniors, a geriatric social service, unique to Erie County, Ohio. It provides services to help Erie County residents, aged 60+, to maintain their ability to function independently and maintain their health. The cost is an anonymous donation. If nothing is given, the older adult will still receive the ride.

Using a Serving Our Seniors’ car, a volunteer driver, can transport older adults living on Kelleys Island to health care appointments as far away as Cleveland and Toledo and locations in between, including Port Clinton.

The volunteer will drive the older adult to the health care provider, wait for the appointment to conclude and transport the older adult back to the Kelleys Island Ferry Service parking lot.

To use this service does involve an enrollment process. Additionally, each trip does require at least 7 business days of advanced notice for the ride to be scheduled. To enroll as a client, for the Out-of-Town Transportation Service to Health Care Appointments Call Serving Our Seniors (419-624-1856).
