History & Beyond…

The Kelleys Island Historical Association has new Board Members and officers for the 2026 Season. Museum Gift Shop Manager, Justiina Loveless has stepped up to the position of President of the Board. Lisa Lotito is serving as Vice President of the KIHA board. Other board members include Nancy Easton (secretary), Terry Behrends, Chad Waffen, Michael Beatty, Donna Algase, and Jackie Polofka. Carmen Smith is the Museum Collections Manager. The Board Members all serve unique and contributing roles on the board. Without “active” board members all that makes the KIHA function, would not be able to happen. Along with new Resale Shop manager, Shery Eddy, and our valued Volunteers, the KIHA Museum Campus will be ready to roll on Memorial Day weekend. You will find the Campus OPEN Thursday through Monday from 12-4 and CLOSED on Tuesday and Wednesdays. A soft opening of the campus will occur on Saturday May 16, 2026.

The Parsonage House Resale Shop has received a much-needed Facelift over the winter. Cleaning, wall patching and painting have been completed in some rooms of the home. You will find the home staged with antique furniture and accessories of the past. Some items have been placed for Historical display but there are still items “For-Sale.” Sis’s Cottage has been tastefully staged for the bulk of our donations. Find your favorite treasures in Sis’s Cottage or in The Parsonage House Resale Shop.

Donations are now being accepted at the Resale Shop. Please contact Sherry Eddy, 740-680-7200, or Jodie Smith 419-350-1082, to schedule your donation drop off or have us come to your home to choose what the Resale Shop can use. Without your generous donations, we would not be able to provide our community with needed items, or to sell island treasures and peculiarities to our loyal and new customers!

History is the main focus of the Campus, and you will find plenty of it at the KIHA History Museum! New Exhibits will be presented this season! The German Reformed Church hopes to be housing some of our items as the Museum building is stretched to the limits for display space! Look for the Historical Items being used in the Parsonage house, too! The German Reformed Church, The Parsonage House, and the Outhouse are Historical Structures in themselves and deserve a visit.

To support the Kelleys Island Historical Association, the esteemed Quilt Raffel will be held again this year. The Quilt was hand made by Board member and Family descendant from Kelleys Island, Teresa Behrend (nee Betzenheimer). The Quilt Raffle Tickets may be purchased at the KIHA Museum Gift Shop. They are $1.00 each or 5 for $6.00. Another source of revenue for the Association is the rental of the German Reformed Church. Please contact Justiina Loveless (330-205-2285) for details. Our Memorial Walk on our campus gives you an opportunity to memorialize an event or a person. Please go to Kelleysislandhistorical.org to order your in scripted brick for the Memorial Walk.

The Ferry Ride Raffle will be held once this year. Buy a ticket for $10.00 for a chance to win a $500.00 Gift Card to the Kelleys Island Ferry Boat Line. Only 500 tickets will be sold! Tickets are available at the KIHA History Museum and Resale Shop. Drawing is on August 3, 2026, and based on the Evening Ohio Lottery Pick 3 Number. Thanks to our sponsor, Ray Schaefer Construction!

Finally, we welcome volunteers, old, new, experienced or learners of the craft!  The Kelleys Island Historical Association was founded with the idea of being volunteer based. We encourage you to get involved! Visiting for 2 weeks? Yes, you can volunteer! Stop by the Museum or Parsonage House Resale Shop or contact Sherry Eddy 740-680-7200 or Justiina Loveless 330-205-2285 to inquire about volunteering for KIHA!

See YOU this season at the Kelleys Island Historical Association Campus!
