As winter slowly loosens its grip on Lake Erie, there’s something truly magical about Kelleys Island this time of year. This past season gifted us with a rare and breathtaking sight—the lake frozen solid, stretching endlessly to the horizon in a quiet, crystalline stillness. It’s a reminder that while many think of the island as a summer destination, its beauty knows no season. From the icy calm of winter to the vibrant energy of summer, Kelleys Island offers something special all year long.
Now, as we look ahead, that stillness begins to give way to anticipation—and excitement is building for an incredible 2026 season. This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with an “All-American Summer” full of community, tradition, and unforgettable experiences.
We’re thrilled to welcome back our signature events, starting with the 5/10K Race/Walk on Sunday, May 31, followed by the Bike Week Dice Run on Wednesday, June 3, and the Brews Cruise: Black Flag Rising on Saturday, June 13. One of the most anticipated weekends of the year, Islandfest, returns Friday, July 17, through Sunday, July 19, bringing parades, music, and island spirit to life.
Summer continues with the Film Festival on August 1–2, leading into fall favorites like Treasure Island Day on September 12 and Restaurant Week from September 21–27. As the season winds down, we embrace the festive fun of Kids Halloween Weekend (October 16–18) and Adult Halloween Weekend (October 23–25).
