Thanks to everyone that joined us for the Wall of Fame ribbon cutting on August 10th. School Board President, Janet Wermuth, and former Superintendent, Phil Thiede, cut the ribbon at the event. We were ecstatic to meet community members with historical familial connections to the school and many audience members enjoyed searching through the content after the presentation had ended. The Wall of Fame digital kiosk serves to provide access to historical documents, photos, and archives of Kelleys Island Local School and is on display in the main corridor.
We would like to thank everyone that made this project possible, especially the Kelleys Island History Museum for providing an amazing collection of digitized historical records. Additionally, we appreciate all community members that contributed items from personal collections. We will continue to collect more content and welcome anyone that has items to share, to contact the school via the office phone. All documents will be scanned and returned to the owner.
Most importantly, we encourage anyone visiting the school to take time to explore the kiosk and learn about our school’s history!
Please join us at Kelleys Island School for our next ribbon cutting ceremony commemorating our new public pavilion/outdoor classroom on September 14th at 1:00 p.m.
